Strasbourg Observers becomes joint project UGent- UHasselt

September 24, 2021

We are happy to announce that the Strasbourg Observers blog is now a joint project of the Human Rights Centre at Ghent University (UGent) and the Centre for Government and Law at Hasselt University (UHasselt).

Professors Eva Brems (UGent) and Stijn Smet (UHasselt) will act as editors-in-chief. It is notable that Stijn Smet was part of the original UGent team that started the blog with Eva Brems back in 2010!

Juncal Montero Regules (UHasselt) and Sarah Schoentjes (UGent) will be our first managing editors. They can count on the support of an enthusiastic team of editors from both institutions.

This is also an appropriate time to express our deepest gratitude and respect to the previous editor, Claire Poppelwell-Scevak.

While the blog’s focus remains unchanged, we have taken the opportunity to refresh its look and feel. We hope you will like it!

Please also check out our updated submission guidelines, and keep sending us your analyses of recent developments at the European Court of Human Rights!
