HRC to disseminate overviews of communicated cases

September 27, 2024

The Ghent University Human Rights Centre is proud to announce a new initiative! The team at the HRC has been scanning all communicated ECtHR cases regularly for a while. We find this helpful for our research, as well as for deciding on third party interventions. Starting from September, we will now be making these overviews publicly available on the website of the HRC.

Every two weeks, we will be uploading the most recently communicated cases on the website. These files include the cases communicated in the two weeks prior, sorted alphabetically by the Member State who acts as the respondent party in the case. In addition to summarizing the subject matter of the case and the questions communicated to the parties, our overviews will also include a few key words per case, allowing interested parties to know quickly if a case will be of interest to them or not.

The files will be uploaded here. Additionally, the link to the page on the HRC website has also been added to the Contact page on our blog, so that our readers can get access to the overviews through the Strasbourg Observers blog as well.

The cases communicated during the summer and the first two weeks of September have been uploaded to the website already. Make sure to regularly check this page if you wish to stay updated on the Court’s progress with the cases pending before it!
